Lough Derg lifeboat assists fisherman

The Lough Derg RNLI lifeboat was called to assist a fisherman who got into difficulty on the lake yesterday afternoon.

His 18 foot lake boat ran aground by the Goat Road on the north eastern shore.

As the area at Russell Cabin is particularly rocky and shallow a, RNLI volunteer waded in to the lake boat and helped the fisherman free the vessel.

The fisherman was unharmed.
