Tipperary’s Jessica Brett has made the final shortlist in the search for a New Local Hero – the unique music award, which has been created as part of Irish Music Month.
The Clonmel singer had already fought off stiff competition in Tipperary from Dàwna, Stell Kennedy and Jack Maye Murphy to earn her place as the Tipp FM representative in the competition involving 21 radio stations.
Jessica has been named in the final six who will play a special showcase at the Academy in Dublin on Tuesday 15th of October at the end of which one will be crowned as Ireland’s New Local Hero for 2024.
She is in the running to win some amazing prizes including €5,000 in cash, €5,000 worth of musical equipment and a single release with the Rubyworks label which is the home of Hozier.
Irish Music Month is an initiative of Hot Press and Independent Broadcasters of Ireland and is funded by Coimisiún na Meán, under its Sound & Vision scheme.
