Sinn Fein is being accused of ‘irresponsible’ ‘Peppa Pig economics’ as the row over the Local Property Tax continues.
It’s being raised by 5% to the maximum level of 15% over the national base rate for the next three years in Tipperary.

That is what was proposed by Fianna Fail Cllr Michael Smith in response to the executive’s plea for it to be brought in for five years.
Sinn Fein’s David Dunne had made a counter proposal that it should be dropped back down to the LPT base rate which would be a drop of 10% on this year.
Cllr Smith says this would have robbed local festivals, cultural events, leisure centres and other schemes of vital funding.
