There could be good news on the jobs front for Littleton after the Environment Minister announced he’s setting up a new company – Bord na Mona Bioenergy.
The company says they’re hoping to grow new biomass crops on the cutaway bog.
Denis Naughten made the announcement at the Energy in Agriculture conference in today in North Tipp but left some concerned there were no details of the promised Renewable Heat Incentive Scheme.

Minister Naughten admitted the RHI scheme is probably a couple of months away from being finalised but he did announce he was setting up a new body – Bord na Mona Bioenergy to drive Ireland’s move away from using turf in our power stations.
This could lead to new jobs down the line for Littleton if they can find a viable biomass crop to grow on the cutaway bogs there.
