Latest National Slow Down Day finishes

An increased Garda presence on the roads has concluded this morning.

It’s part of a joint campaign between Gardaí and the RSA for National Slow Down Day.

Among the motorists detected breaking the speed limit in the Premier County was a driver doing 115km/h in a 100km/h Zone on the R639 at Longfordpass.

Another was travelling at 74km/h in a 50 zone on the R661 near Holycross.

Safety chiefs are thanking motorists for their compliance, but appealing to drivers to continue to comply with speed limits all year around.
