Tipperary GAA secretary Tim Floyd is set to attempt to get the definition of a ‘melee’ changed in the GAA rulebook.

It follows Jason Forde’s one match ban earlier this season for an infraction with Wexford manager Davy Fitzgerald.

According to Floyd, the chairman of the CHC defined a melee as ‘three or more pushing and shoving’.

In response to what was one of the biggest GAA stories of 2017, one of the motions to the Tipperary GAA convention this weekend will propose that for an altercation to be defined as a melee it must include at least 5 players.

Tim Floyd explains why they’re looking to change the definition.
