The head of the HSE in the mid-west says the most critical services will continue at UHL and Nenagh hospital despite the suspension of many elective care services.
Management of the U-L hospital Group has announced that elective and day surgery, and outpatients appointments are being deferred until further notice to combat overcrowding at the emergency department in Limerick.
The INMO says there are 120 patients admitted to the hospital which serves north Tipperary without beds and the number was 127 yesterday.
All affected patient will be contacted directly and all other are asked to continue to attend their appointments.
Regional Executive Officer HSE Mid West Sandra Broderick says the cancellations are to protect the ED and maintain their most critical services.
