Newport AC is urging members of the public to joins them in celebration this evening.

They are holding a homecoming for Newport Native Sharlene Mawdsley following her performance in the Paris 2024 Olympics.

The Tipperary athlete placed 4th in the Women’s 4x400m Women’s Relay Final, along with teammates Rasidat Adeleke, Sophie Becker, and Phil Healy.

And Chairperson of Newport AC Anne Fagan hopes a crowd will join them at 6:30pm in Newport Town Park.
