Tipperary’s Dean “Breakfast” Gardiner has announced his retirement from international boxing .

He made the decision on New Year’s Eve after weighing up all his options and priorities over the last few months.

The Clonmel man is a 4-time national senior champion and has represented Ireland on the international stage on many occasions.

Dean returned to full time education last September and is doing a degree in business studies.
