By all means celebrate your Leaving Cert results but be sensible is the message from Gardaí in Tipperary.
Students have been calling to schools or getting their results online today with many planning to mark the occasion with friends tonight.
Inspector James White of Thurles Garda station has wished them well on the next chapter be it college or employment.
However he says it’s important that they look out for one another tonight.
“Unfortunately some of the celebrations may result in the over indulgence in alcohol – and in doing so that of course will bring a few risks and problems.
“To young people and particularly their parents – if they’re going out in groups of three, four, five or whatever look out for each other and don’t leave someone behind. If one person has over indulged and you can’t mind them ensure they get home. If that means ringing a sibling or parent to get that person home irrespective of how intoxicated they may be get them home – they’re much safer at home.”
