Gardaí investigate overnight break-in to Fethard shop

Meagher’s Daybreak outlet on Kerry Street in the town was targeted by thieves sometime between midnight and 6am.

It’s understood they used a con-saw to remove the ATM while cash registers and cigarettes were also taken in the raid.

A white Opel Vivaro van – registration number 12-TN-243 – was taken from the forecourt at Kerry Street.

Store manager Declan Whelan says the thieves seem to have come well prepared.
