Fresh drive to secure Roscrea CCTV

A major push is on to have a state of the art CCTV system up and running in Roscrea by the end of the year.

The project has been in the pipeline for some time now but its importance was highlighted recently following the vicious aggravated burglary on an elderly couple in the North Tipp town

Meetings have already taken place between local Gardai, the Chamber of Commerce and Tipperary County Council with a system already designed for the town and public meeting is being held tonight in the Abbey Hall at 8 o’clock to bring people up to date on the progress being made.

Derek Russell from “Roscrea Stands Up” says Gardaí have already said a CCTV system would aid them in solving crimes.
