Tipp FM understands that in recent months the drinks giant has sought mandatory redundancies across all of its departments both here in Tipperary and elsewhere and that figure now stands close to 50.

This comes on the back of the closure of the former Gleeson’s C&C plant in Borrisoleigh with production moving to their Annerville site outside Clonmel

The layoffs are due to start taking effect at the end of the month and staff have been liaising with union officials due to concerns over the packages being offered.

Local TD Mattie McGrath claims the company is being taken apart piece-by-piece.
