Drugs, cash and equipment have been seized in a major clampdown on illegal hunting in Tipperary.
A multi-agency effort under Operation Lurcher was carried out at a number of locations last weekend across the south of the Premier County.
Up to 5-thousand Euro worth of cocaine was seized along with a substantial amount of cash and equipment used for illegal hunting.
Cahir Sgt Carol O’Leary has been telling Tipp Today that it was a very successful operation.
“Gardaí from across the South Tipperary area, supported by National Units, there was members from the National Parks and Wildlife Service.
“We do our job, they do theirs, they are brilliant, they’re epic workers on it, representatives from the ISPCA (were also there).
“There was a number of searches under warrants from the courts conducted and as a result of that there was a large number of items that were used for illegal hunting seized and there was also expected cocaine, approximately €5000 worth and a substantial amount of cash.”
