There could be as many as four dolphins in the River Suir near Carrick.
There have been numerous sightings of a bottle nosed dolphin in the river in recent days.

Although it is not uncommon for dolphins to appear in the river – with a pair being spotted in Waterford back in November 2016 – it is rare for them to be as far inland.
