Thurles CBS are heading to Croke Park.
The reigning Harty Cup champions have qualified for this year’s Croke Cup final following Saturday’s four-point semi-final win over Coláiste Bhaile Chláir.
They now head into the All-Ireland senior A schools hurling final where they will play Presentation College Athenry on St. Patrick’s Day at 3pm in Croke Park.
Thurles CBS manager Niall Cahill says they’ll be hoping to make the most of their trip to HQ:
“It’s a huge occasion for the lads and it sets out the stall for the younger boys in the school that this is achievable for you.
“It’s where we want to be, it’s where we are hoping to be and thankfully we got there.
“A lot of these boys have had an awful lot of hurt and pain, they came up a point short against Athenry two years ago up in Birr and they missed out on their opportunity on getting to Croke Park with that but thankfully for some of them they were young and they were playing, it was a very young team the same day and they’ve got the opportunity but it’s a long road back so we may make the most of it now and give it everything we can for the next few weeks.”
