Insurance companies have been criticised for their refusal to give quotes for cars that are older than 10 years.
Independent TD Mattie McGrath has put forward the issue to the government, while also questioning the purpose of the NCT certification system.

Deputy McGrath says that the NCT proves that the vehicle is road worthy, so the companies should not be allowed to refuse quotes.
The Tipp TD also raised the issue of roads in the county while speaking to Fran Curry on Tipp Today.
