Tipperary County Council is being accused of failing to clean up its own act when it comes to derelict buildings.

The charge was leveled at the local authority during discussions in Carrick on Suir over several such sites in the town including one down near The Marina at the end of Strand Lane.

Councillors have called for the derlict building which was used for storage to be revamped and put to community use.

FF’s Kieran Bourke would like to see it as a permanent residence for the town’s Brass Band.

Sinn Fein’s David Dunne agrees the site needs to be cleared up but he feels there is also room for Sinn Fein’s flute band too.
