The Tipperary County Board has given its full backing to Senior Hurling manager Michael Ryan.

It comes after All Star Cathal Barrett was dropped from the panel for disciplinary reasons.

The Holycross-Ballycahill clubman was injured in the Premier’s Munster Championship defeat to Cork and already facing a six week layoff.

However the County Board confirmed last night that Michael Ryan had removed him from the panel completely.

Chairman Michael Bourke says the manager has the full support of the County Board.

Meanwhile County Board secretary Tim Floyd says he doesn’t see this as the end of Cathal Barrett’s inter-county career.
