The Nenagh Municipal District is being urged to provide financial assistance for a specific neutering programme for stray cats and dogs.
Some local representatives say there is a serious problem in some areas with unwanted animals with many ending up in the pound.

They want a targeted programme to address this but Councillor Hughie McGrath says rescue charities already provide assistance for neutering.
