Council to consider plans for telecommunications mast in Clonmel

A planning application has been lodged for a telecommunications mast at a sports ground in Clonmel.

Vantage Towers Ltd is the company behind the proposals for the Clonmel Commercials GAA Club site in the town.

They are seeking permission for an 18 metre high monopole telecommunication structure with antennas, dishes and associated telecommunications equipment,

The application highlights what’s described as the inadequacy of the infrastructure within Clonmel town to adequately meet the demands of both current and anticipated customer needs for advanced technologies and communication services.

A previous application from Three Ireland for a 20 metre high telecommunications structure at the Western Road site was refused in 2020.
