Former Fine Gael TD Noel Coonan is still undecided on whether he will seek the party’s nomination to run in the next General Election.

In 1991 he was elected to North Tipp Council, and was elected to the Seanad in 2002.

The Templemore-man was first elected to the Dail in 2007; however he lost his seat in 2016, along with his party colleague Tom Hayes.

He has been nominated for Friday night’s declaration convention in the Ragg, as the only candidate from the North of the county.

However, Noel Coonan says he’s going to consult with his supporters and the party before making a final decision.
