Around 180 men and women have spent the past 34 weeks at the Garda College preparing for a life in the force.

They’ll celebrate their hard work at a passing out ceremony at the campus today.

Minister for Justice Charlie Flanagan will be in attendance along with the new Garda Commissioner Drew Harris.

Mr. Harris took up the role on Monday and it will mark his first real public engagement.

After today’s ceremony the probationer Gardaí will be deployed to stations around the country, where they’ll complete their training over the next year and a half.
