Co. Board confident of strong case over Forde ban

Tipperary fans will have to wait until next week to find out if Jason Forde will be free to play in the Munster Hurling Championship opener against Cork.

The County Board lodged an appeal with the Central Appeals Committee last night against his one-match ban.

They’re unhappy with the Central Hearings Committee ruling last week which reduced the suspension from 2-matches to one for the midfielders’ part in an on-pitch incident involving Wexford manager Davy Fitzgerald.

County Secretary Tim Floyd says they’ve requested that the case to be heard next Monday or Tuesday and are confident they have a strong case…
