Clonmel’s Daire Lynch qualifies for Olympic rowing final

Clonmel’s Daire Lynch has qualified for an Olympic final.

The Tipperary man, alongside his county Down teammate Philip Doyle, won their semi-final of the men’s double sculls rowing event in Paris this morning.

They now go into the Olympic final as fastest qualifiers and will compete alongside the USA, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Spain and Romania.

The final takes place on Thursday morning at 10.30am Irish time.
