Clonmel has yet another world rowing medallist

After Daire Lynch’s success in Paris, local man Donnacha Keeley has won gold at the World U23 Rowing championships in Canada.

Keeley, who’s formerly of Clonmel rowing club but now with University of Galway, alongside his Queen’s University teammate Ciaran Purdy won the men’s double sculls final.

The Irish pair’s time of 6:14:58 was just under a second faster than Italy in second while France claimed the bronze medal.
