Clonmel to welcome home Daire Lynch

Big crowds are expected in Clonmel this evening to welcome home a local Olympic hero.

Daire Lynch, alongside his teammate Philip Doyle, won bronze in Paris earlier this month in the Men’s double sculls rowing event.

It was the first Olympic medal won by a Tipperary athlete in 92 years.

Both Daire and Down native Philip will be welcomed home at a special event in Kickham Plaza this evening.

The homecoming gets underway at 6pm.
