Almost 68% of vacant commercial properties in Tipperary have been empty for over three years.
The Geo Directory Geoview Commercial Vacancy report also shows that Clonmel has the highest commercial vancancy rate in the County, while Nenagh has the lowest.
Tipperary’s commercial vacancy rate stood at 14.4% in the last quarter of 2017, representing a 0.4 per cent increase compared to the same period in 2016.
According to the report from Geo Directory, the national vacancy rate in Ireland now stands at 13.3%, a drop of point two per cent.
Most concerning, is that 67.7 per cent of vacant properties in Tipperary have been vacant for three years or longer.
Clonmel has the highest vacancy rate in the County at 19.2% while Nenagh has the lowest at 14.2%.
Nationally, the County with the most vacant commercial properties is Sligo at 18.2% while Kerry has the lowest at 10.5%.
Commenting on the report, Dara Keogh, the CEO of Geo Directory says that despite the fact that that 15 counties registered vacancy rates higher than the national average, it shows that the economic recovery is starting to spread outside of Dublin.
