Figures from the GeoView Residential Buildings Report show 1,165 houses were sold in the Premier County during 2017.
The average price of houses sold in the Clonmel area last year was just over €167,000. A total of 247 residential properties were sold in the E91 Eircode area around the south Tipp town.
The average price in the E34 Eircode or Tipp town area was less than €98,000.
Roscrea’s average was €104,000, Thurles €122,000, Cahir €127,000, Cashel €129,000, Carrick on Suir almost €134,000 and Nenagh €137,000.
Just 66 properties changed hands in the E21 or Cahir area in 2017 which was the lowest turnover in the county.
Meanwhile 228 new dwellings were added to Tipperary’s residential building stock during the last 12 months.
The GeoView report – which uses data from GeoDirectory, the CSO and the Department of Housing, Planning & Local Government – shows that the Premier County has one of the lowest residential densities in the country with just 16 dwellings per square kilometre.
