Clonmel Council T Purchase Historic Building

Clonmel Borough Council is set to purchase one of Clonmel’s most historic buildings.

The former chemist and opticians, DW Parkes, has been closed for many years,
but the building on Gladstone street was left relatively untouched during that time.

The Council granted funding for the building in 2020 to repair the roof and also sought to have the structure protected.

The National Inventory of Architectural Heritage, run by the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, has documented the building as a notable feature on the streetscape in Clonmel.
