Munster Camogie and Munster GAA have teamed up to host double headers for the upcoming Munster Championship.
Three Munster camogie ties will serve as the curtain raisers for upcoming games in the Munster senior hurling championship.
Tipperary’s opener on Easter Sunday at home to Limerick in the senior hurling championship will follow the senior camogie quarter-final clash between the Premier and Limerick.
Meanwhile, the Munster senior camogie final will be played in Ennis on May 10th, prior to Tipperary’s meeting with All-Ireland champions Clare in the Munster senior hurling championship.
It was also confirmed today that Cork and Clare’s clash on Easter Sunday will have the Munster senior camogie semi-final meeting of Cork and Clare as the curtain raiser.
Speaking following confirmation of the curtain-raiser fixtures, Munster GAA Chairman Tim Murphy said “The inclusion of 3 Munster Senior Camogie Championship games to act as curtain-raisers in the upcoming Munster Senior Hurling Championship is further proof of the growing bond between our respective organisations. I am happy to see this come to fruition again in 2025 and look forward to growing the links between our games in to the future”.
Munster Camogie Chairperson Christine Ryan on the confirmation of the curtain-raisers in the coming weeks said “We are delighted in Munster Council Camogie to once again partner with Munster GAA to include 3 out of the 4 Munster Senior Camogie Championship games as curtain-raisers in the upcoming Munster Hurling Championship. All our players look forward to sampling the atmosphere on Munster Championship days in front of sellout attendances, an opportunity that will only enhance the profile of Camogie to a wider audience.”
