Anti-social behaviour in Cashel is an ongoing problem according to a local Councillor.
The issue has been highlighted on numerous occasions in recent times
Independent representative Liam Browne says it’s down to a small group of people.
On Tipp Today earlier he said the lack of Garda personnel in Cashel needs to be addressed.
“There’s only a very small number of people involved in anti-social behaviour in Cashel – if its dealt with most of that anti-social behaviour will stop.
“I don’t want to flip this back on the Gardaí by saying that its great that they can put 70 people (Gardaí) in Dundrum this morning when there’s no anti-social behaviour whatsoever – but they can’t put a couple of Gardaí in Cashel when there’s an awful lot of it going on.
“You know we’ve got to look at resources – we need more in Cashel. We need the station to reopen – its going to reopen I think later this month – but if it’s going to reopen at the same hours that it was open at before it closed down then it may as well stay closed as its absolutely pointless.”
