A Tipperary man has a chance to become an MMA World Champion today.
35-year-old Cahir native Will Fleury is in Prague competing for the Oktagon MMA Light Heavyweight title.
The Tipp man is taking on Czech fighter and reigning champion Karlos Vemola in front of 20,000 people at the O2 Arena in Prague.
The fight has been promoted heavily in the Czech Republic and online, and Fleury says he has been enjoying the build up:
“There has been a little bit of niggle in the build up but I have enjoyed the whole thing.
“It hasn’t been too personal or it hasn’t gotten any bit unsavoury, it’s been fun and Oktagon have promoted it really well.
“I’m very excited to get in their and perform on the night and going over to Prague and winning the belt against a Czech guy would be a good buzz.”
The fight tonight will be broadcast on DAZN and Oktagon.tv.
