Tipperary’s good form in the National Hurling League continued yesterday.
Liam Cahill’s men made it four wins from five, beating Kilkenny in UPMC Nowlan Park on a final score line of 2-25 to 1-19.
Craig Morgan and Oisín O’Donoghue scored Tipp’s goals in the first half whilst Gearóid Dunne netted for the cats.
However the main talking points from the game came in a ten minute period in the second half when red cards were shown to Tipp’s Alan Tynan and the Kilkenny trio of David Blanchfield, Mikey Carey and Jordan Molloy.
Speaking after the game, Liam Cahill was happy with how the younger players stepped up yesterday:
“This league to date has been reasonably good to us, we’ve kept a lot of consistency in our team but tried one or two players each day we have took to the field.
“Today was a good test again for one or two of the newbies.
“Young Oisín O’Donoghue making his debut in the Tipperary jersey and did really well for 30 minutes there and younger fellas again that performed well at the start of the league, the likes of young Sam O’Farrelll and young Darragh McCarthy and all them, them boys are going to be an integral part of Tipperary going into the future and not just in 2025.”
