1,674 new homes have been built in Tipperary since July 2020.
According to the figures compiled from Fianna Fáil’s Housing For All plan, also show that there has been a marked increase in the number of commencements in the first six months of this year.
From January to June work has started on 670 homes in Tipperary – up from 232 in the same period in 2023
Commenting on the figures local Fianna Fáil TD Jackie Cahill says the figures show that their efforts to tackle the housing problems are working.
“Since we entered government our top priority has been to do everything to help everyone to be able to afford to buy or rent a home. Every level is being used to tackle the housing crisis and statistics show that progress is being made.
“The Help to Buy scheme is helping first time buyers to get their first home, the Rent Tax Credit is helping renters with 10,616 claims made across Tipperary from 2022 to 2024.”
