Barrett out 4-6 weeks as McGrath urges fans to back team

Tipp All Star hurling corner back Cathal Barrett is expected to be out of action for 4-6 weeks.

It was originally feared it would be longer when he went off during the loss to Cork at Semple Stadium on Sunday, but scans have confirmed it’s not his cruciate.

Despite the good news the Holycross-Ballycahill captain could still be a doubt for the first game of the qualifiers at the start of July.

Meanwhile, former All Star Shane McGrath says there’s no crisis in Tipperary Hurling.

But the Ballinahinch man says it’s up to the fans to get behind the team now and show them the support they deserve as they try to defend their All Ireland title.

McGrath made this plea on Extra Time with Ronan Quirke on Tipp FM:
