In a busy month of sport in the county, nominations came in for a number of people including the Tipperary junior camogie team, rower Donnacha Keeley and Olympian Sharlene Mawdsley.
However, the award for August went to Olympic bronze medal winning rower Daire Lynch who brought a first Olympic medal back to the Premier county in 92 years when he and his teammate Philip Doyle earned bronze in the men’s double sculls in Paris.
He will receive a specially crafted piece from John Quirke Jewellers which will be presented at the annual award ceremony at the Talbot Hotel in Clonmel.
Nominations are now open for the September winner so send your suggestions to [email protected]
