There will be road closures in Clonmel next weekend to facilitate the annual Santa Dash.
Final decisions on the road closures will be made on the day, but it’s likely that Sarsfield Street will close from 9am to 6pm on Saturday December 16th.
There will also be a rolling closure in place in O Connell street while the event takes place from 2pm to 3.30.
The Dash won’t follow the same route as last year -starting at Westgate heading to the Main Guard – after it was decided that the route planned for this year would disrupt too much traffic and businesses.
The South Tipperary Mental Health Consumer Panel is hosting the festive event which will continue into the evening with a host of live music.
District administrator Anthony Coleman says the Santa Dash aims to raise the Christmas spirit in the town:
The festive event kicks off at 1.30pm next Saturday at The Main Guard with the Circle of Friends choir.
