American Ambassador says US companies will remain in Ireland

America’s representative in Ireland says US companies based in Tipperary are here for the long haul.

The Premier County is home to a number of American multi-nationals such as MSD, Abbott, Boston Scientific and First Data which creating thousands of jobs here.

However concerns have been expressed that President Trump’s efforts to get US companies to relocate back to the states could see a reduction in investment in Tipp.

Chargé d’Affaires Reece Smyth was in Tipperary over the weekend for the National Famine Commemoration in Ballingarry.

Not only is he confident that US companies staying here he also wants to see Tipperary companies expanding into the states.
