2017 was a very busy year for the South Eastern Mountain Rescue Group which saw a spike in the number of call outs.
SEMRA, which is a volunteer organisation who have a base in Clonmel, attended 28 call-outs to people in distress in 2017.

The organisation currently costs around 45,000 euro a year to run – 7,000 of which comes from Government grants.
However if call outs continue to increase, the group will need additional funding.
