Marcus O’Connor is Director of Services for roads with the local authority.

He says their analysis shows just how much of a shortfall there is.

Meanwhile there are calls for Tipperary motorists to be exempt from the NCT because of the state of the county’s roads.

Independent Councillor Seamie Morris says people can’t be expected to have to constantly repair their cars due to damage caused by poor road surfaces.
