20% of patients on trolleys today are at UHL

1 in 5 of the patients without a bed today are being cared for at University Hospital Limerick.

The Dooradoyle hospital – which caters for patients from North Tipperary, Limerick and Clare – has 28 patients on trolleys this afternoon.

According to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation 18 of these are in the Emergency Department with the remaining 10 in already full wards.

Nationally 135 people who have been admitted to hospital are without a bed.
