Darrah McCarthy got the first half goal from the penalty spot and also racked up six frees for a tally of 1-06.
The second half goals came from Gearoid O’Connor (who scored 1-04 from play) and Dylan Walsh.
The scoreboard would have looked a lot worse to the Galway fans if the home side hadn’t scored 2 late goals in the last few minutes to close the gap a little.
