Tipperary are All-Ireland Premier Junior camogie champions for the third time ever.
Bill Mullaney’s side defeated Laois in Croke Park yesterday on a final scoreline of 0-12 to 1-08 to lift the Kay Mills Cup.
Freetaker Jenny Grace landed nine points including the winning point in additional time.
Captain Sinead Meagher was delighted to walk the steps of the Hogan stand:
“We died with our boots on there today.
“it’s probably the best feeling in the world, I’d give any other medal to take this one, it’s just unbelievable.
“Having my dad up the top of the Hogan stand as well and just shouting me on, it means so much to me and my family.
“What a day for Tipperary camogie, I am absolutely buzzing and I’m buzzing for the girls in the dressing room, they deserve every bit of it.”
The Kiladangan woman also mentioned the passing of her late mother Ann in recent years inspired her to get back involved with Tipperary camogie after a year away from the set up:
“One of the things that she always used to say to me was that she would watch me in Croke Park climb the Hogan stand steps and that’s what I did here today.
“I’d give anything to have her here but look, she would be so proud, she’s watching down right now and I know she has a big grin.
“She pucked every ball with us there today and I really do think she was watching down on us so I am so happy.”
