The Saints were held to a 1-1 draw away to newcomers Cashel Town.
Peake Villa got their campaign up and running with a 2-1 win away to Cahir Park thanks to a Keith Cahill strike.
Elsewhere, Clonmel Town go top of the league following their 8-0 win over Bansha Celtic whilst Clonmel Celtic drew 2-2 at home to Two Mile Borris.
