The occupants escaped injury after at least one shot was fired at the dwelling last night.
A woman and a number of children were in the house at the time.
Gardaí are investigating the incident which happened in the Old Bridge area at around 10.30pm.
They are also trying to find the reason why the house was targeted.
Anyone who may have noticed any people or vehicles in the general area of the Old Bridge, Cascade Park or Brook Crescent between 10pm and midnight is asked to contact Clonmel Gardaí on 052 6177640.
