The new National Planning Framework could have huge implications for the Premier County.

The document, which lays out plans for the country for the next 22 years, would see many towns in the Premier lose their status as urban centres.

At this week’s meeting of the Thurles Templemore Municipal district, councillors were quick to voice their concerns.

Among their issues were funding, planning, development that Tipperary could lose out on – and many felt there was a lack of consultation by the Government.
