Clonmel Arms Hotel set for a new lease of life

A landmark town centre site in Clonmel finally looks set for a new lease of life.

The former Clonmel Arms Hotel has been lying idle for nearly two decades and has fallen into considerable disrepair inside.

There have been a number of false dawns with talk of it being converted into a multi-storey car park and also plans for a retail development.

The property on Sarsfield Street was sold by NAMA earlier this year.

This weeks meeting of Clonmel Borough District heard from District Administrator Anthony Coleman that the new owners are planning a 120 bedroom hotel.
