Cahir in line for a jobs boost

Cahir is in for a welcome jobs boost over the coming months.

Plans for a major re-development of Woodview Service Station have been given the green light.

Over ten new jobs will be created as a result of the ambitious redevelopment plans for the business on the Mitchelstown Road in Cahir.

Tipperary County Council has granted permission for the demolition of the existing building at Woodview Service Station.

A new 2-storey retail development will be constructed in its place at a different location on the site.

There will also be a change to the entry and exit points to the business from the roadway.

A goods delivery compound and staff car park are also included in the plans

Planning permission for the original petrol station on the site was granted in 1969 – it was subsequently redeveloped in 2008.

The business will be staying open during the 3 month build period.

At present there are 20 full and part time staff – this will increase to over 30 when the work is complete in January or February of next year.
