The South Tipp village of Ballylooby looks set for an increase in population in the future.

Tipperary County Council has granted permission for the construction of a number of houses on the Cahir side of the village.

Six two storey houses are to be built on the 1.3 hectare site.

The development will be on a phased basis with one or more units being constructed at a time.
